Part 1: Preparation, logistics (physical, financial, mentally ready and tough)
1. Preparation:
A. endurance, wt training etc.,
B. Treks (high altitude - 12k, 14k, 15k treks) to acclimatize the body.

How many days?
Finances: 2 lacs- 2.5 lacs
Parikarma
5.
Part 2: Doing it. Take it on with an attitude of surrender to mahadev.
A. Visiting nepal and it’s surrounding places. Do it before the yatra. If you can. If going through govt, focus on mahadev. And give yourself lots of time to adjust to the higher altitudes, drinking hot water etc.,
B. Nepal route - kathmandu to tatopani, to nyalam to saga to manasarovar to darchen to yamadwar to dirapuk to zuthulpuk to yamadwar.
C. Immigration at tatopani and the landslides there and how we have to cross it.
D. No bathrooms at manasarovar. You will have to go in the open. Even ladies.
E. Return back to darchen to saga to tatopani and kathmandu.
F. High altitude sickness - headache, lack of appetite, difficulty breathing, higher heart rate, tingling in the fingers, toes, face, vomiting.
G. You can do parikrama on a horse, by walk, or with the help of a porter who will carry your backpack.
H. The parikrama is tough. While some are able to do it. At the end of the first day, one lady has fallen sick as her o2 levels plummeted to 50. and she said she remembered her kids. How much she felt they will miss her, if she can’t make it. She got support and she came back.
I. Due to the steepness of the parikrama on day 2 and the long 22-24k walk, most people fell down. One lady was kicked by a horse and fell down.
J. You will have to hire a porter, who will carry the small backpack with o2 cylinder, water bottle, snacks etc., for you. Support you and stay with you. They typically charge 1200 yuan/head.
K. For ashtapad visit, they charge 500 yuan/head. You will go in a bus.
L. Charan sparsh is there on day 2. you can go and tough kailash at this point. It is about 2k each way
M. Due to the prayers of everyone, mahadev’s grace was there in the form of clear skies. Though there was some snow fall on day 2, it was very less.
Part 3: Recovery. Most of us were coughing after returning from the trip. It is taking some time to heal.
1. Prayer and surrender to mahadev
2. Physical, financial preparedeness and giving plenty of time to practice with treks of high altitudes.
Stories:
1. With all the preparation, being unable to do the parikrama. Praying, surrendering and finally accepting the reality. And being o.k with it.
2. Riots in Kathmandu (escaping it narrowly, the blessings of diving mother and mahadev)
3. One lady’s o2 levels dropped a lot and she had to be airlifted to lower elevation. But she still saw manasarovar and kailash
4. One man’s mother died while he started the yatra. He had to go back, cutting the yatra short.
5. On the yatra, one lady experienced - 1. difficulties with boarding the plane from hyderabad (voter id) 2. while going back, her plane ticket was cancelled, and she had no data in a foreign country (nepal), and no money. Only cash in the bank in india. She came out of it, by asking for help and receiving it from others, getting wifi and then calling home and booking ticket and hotel. Safely returning finally.
6. On the parikrama, one lady of about 40 yrs of age fell from a horse. She had bleeding behind her head. She was helped by some of the other ladies doing the parikrama. Once she recovered, she insisted on going ahead with the parikrama instead of going back to the base. She passed away.
7. Also heard of another old lady, who couldn’t take the high altitude and passed away on the parikrama as well.
8. While on the surface it may appear that it is a disaster. It is a blessing that mahadev has taken their souls to kailash.
9. We had mostly good accommodations through the journey, while the food is ok. We started craving south indian food.
10. The roads in nepal are worst. No proper roads. The bus, the landslides make it horrible to travel.
11. Holiday inn express in kathmandu is great.
12. I discovered that I can’t adapt to altitudes above 15,500ft. It is hard on my heart and me. Low on energy, higher heart rate, difficulty sleeping, head ache etc.,
13. I felt the grace of diving mother lalithamba and mahadev. In the way my journey went. How I was safe throughout. How my mind was directed to accept the reality and be ok with it.
14.
15.
16. The private tour operators can’t be trusted. The reviews, may have been done when they have good guides etc., but not so in our case. We had experienced a lot of trouble with guides and their behavior. As the tour opened after a long time of 5 years, the tibetans and nepalese are eager to make money. And didn’t care about the tourists. During parikrama the guides were not helping in any way. And on the last day, they were drunk and gave us a lot of trouble when our luggage didn’t reach on time, and our departure was delayed.
17. Equipment - good trekking shoes, walking pole, warm clothes, jackets, gloves etc., are a must. Along with a hat, cooling shades.
Tests by mahadev:
1. Test at the end of the yatra.
2. The various problems faced by an old lady.
3. During the parikrama…
